My Nanny Story
I have lots of diverse experience in childcare. I started by babysitting for neighbours, family friends and families at my school and my career has grown from there, for a long while almost with out me noticing!
As a nanny I have worked with all ages from newborns to teenagers, with only children and large families, shared care and sole care, for busy parents and seriously ill parents who needed extra support. I have experience with siblings, similar/mixed age groups, bottle feeding/weaning, nappies/potty training and serious allergies. My duties have included cooking/meal times, nap/bedtime, play-dates/outings, school/nursery runs, cleaning/tidying after myself and children, children's laundry, dealing with accidents/illness, attending Dr appointments with child, dispensing medicines as agreed with parents and much more.
My Steiner Waldorf qualification has given me a deep understanding of child development for under 7s and a solid foundation in further child development. I use what I learnt on the training to provide a balance of activities during my time with the children. The Steiner Waldorf Kindergartens work with mixed age group, this means I can tailor activities so siblings of all ages can enjoy and learn from the same activity.
My experience in nurseries has given me confidence with larger groups of children, dealing with accidents and trying different things like new activities. I have enjoyed it all and learned much from each experience.

I like to work together as a team with parents to provide a child centred and creative environment for the children, with a consistent and patient approach whether working sole charge or shared care. I make an effort to get to know each child individually, find out how your family works, your house rules and what your family's needs are and I use this along with my experience to tailor what I provide to suit your family. I enjoy singing, crafts, cooking, being outdoors, reading and learning and I endeavour to bring this into my work and pass this enjoyment on to the children in my care.
